2024-2025 ATHLETICS AND TRANSPORTATION

Welcome to another year of Berrendos Athletics. The fall sports which students may participate in include: girls volleyball, coed soccer and coed cross country. Information regarding the fall sports will be given out during the students' physical education classes. Girls basketball will begin as soon as volleyball and soccer conclude. Boys basketball starts after Winter Break with try-outs occurring prior to vacation. Following boys basketball, we have girls softball and boys baseball. We end the year with track. Since the school is not able to supply bus transportation for away games, we have to rely on the generosity of our parents to help drive our athletes to the games. If you think that at any point and time you will be willing to help transport athletes, you need to obtain the appropriate paper work from the office. Once you get this done, you are able to drive students for any Berrendos activity; this includes sporting events and field trips for the remainder of the school year. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Berrendos Athletic Director - Nancy Hufford by email or call the school at 527-6700.

A reminder that ALL students who wish to participate in Berrendos athletics must have some form of medical insurance. If a student does not have insurance through an adult in his/her family, a parent/guardian may purchase a low cost health insurance plan through the school. A school insurance form will be included as part of the beginning of the school year packet each student will bring home. More forms may be found in the school office.
WHERE TO GO BEFORE TRY OUTS/PRACTICES AND PICK UP

WHERE TO GO BEFORE TRY OUTS/PRACTICES AND PICK UP

When participating in Berrendos athletics, a students may not simply "hang out" on campus waiting for their activity to begin. If a student is in SERRF, he/she needs to go there. On Tuesdays through Fridays, students may make arrangements to go to a teacher's classroom to get work completed. Or a student may go home and then return before try outs or practice begins. Please have a plan with your child as to what he or she will do during the "down time" before the activity. In addition, please make arrangements to have your child  picked up on time. Failure to follow these guidelines could impact a student making a team.
